The City of Black Diamond is seeking applicants to fill two newly created positions on the Black Diamond City Council. The terms for these positions will commence once candidates are appointed by a majority vote of the City Council and will expire after the results of the general election to be held in November 2021 have been certified.  Following the general election, one of the newly created positions will be for an initial term of two years, and the other newly created position will be for the term of four years.  Residents interested in applying for one or both newly created Council positions must have resided in the City of Black Diamond for at least one year prior to Council appointment and must be registered to vote.  Applications forms may be obtained at City Hall, located at 24301 Roberts Drive, Black Diamond, WA 98010 or by clicking hereApplications must be received at City Hall by 4:00 p.m. on September 3, 2019.  A mailing postmark will NOT be accepted.  Applicants will need to indicate whether they wish to apply for the two-year position or the four-year position (or both). Civil Service Vacancy Notice - The City of Black Diamond is seeking applicants to fill an expired term for Position #2. The term for this posiiton will commence after confirmation by the City Council and will expire December 31, 2024. The Civil Service Commission consists of three (3) members. The Commission oversees the testing process for all fully commissioned officers of the city's police department and is also responsible for hearing any appealed disciplinary actions that are appealed to the Civil Service Commission. The Commission typically meets once per month on the first Thursday of each month at 11:00 a.m. but may meet more frequently if needed.
